AbilityLinks Business Leaders Breakfast Opens Doors to Diversity, Inclusion

On October 13,
AbilityLinks.org hosted a Business Leaders Breakfast Event as part of its year-long tenth anniversary celebration. The breakfast event entitled A New Corporate and Business Frontier: People with Disabilities, brought together leaders and executives of inclusive corporations to explore the benefits of reaching people with disabilities as employees and as customers. Nearly 200 individuals were in attendance for the captivating panel discussion.

On October 13, AbilityLinks.org hosted a Business Leaders Breakfast Event as part of its year-long tenth anniversary celebration. The breakfast event entitled A New Corporate and Business Frontier: People with Disabilities, brought together leaders and executives of inclusive corporations to explore the benefits of reaching people with disabilities as employees and as customers. Nearly 200 individuals were in attendance for the captivating panel discussion.

Clay Broussard, Director of Customer Supply Chain & Logistics for PepsiCo, delivered an exceptional keynote presentation, followed by an engaging panel discussion with leaders from PepsiCo, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, OfficeMax, and Anitko, LLC. The panel discussion described inclusion and diversity tactics including the importance of developing employee resource groups, garnering support from leadership, and accommodating people with different abilities using assistive technology.

“For the past ten years, AbilityLinks has acted as a conduit to connect inclusive employers and job seekers and this event opened doors for corporations and organizations that may not yet utilize the opportunities and benefits of inclusion,” explains Kathleen Yosko, President and CEO of Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and AbilityLinks Steering Committee Co-Chair. “This exclusive event also marked a milestone of serving people with disabilities. We are proud to have been part of bringing this valuable resource to our neighbors and communities for the last ten years and look forward to another successful decade for AbilityLinks.”
